So you are going to a crop on Saturday and you don't know what to pack...

So many of us are faced with this dilema and we either end up packing waayy too muc stuff or even worse we end up forgetting the essential tools that we need in order to complete our projects. Well worry no more my friends I am here to help!! I am going to walk you through some very simple steps you can take a few days before that all day crop to prepare and pack so that when you get to that big day with all your gals friends you will have ONLY the items you need and you will get more stuff done, enjoy great time with the girls and walk away with a feeling of accomplishment!!! So grab a cup of coffee or tea and sit with me while I go over some tips on what to do a few days before heading out to an all day crop.

Okay so it's the Monday and Saturday you have plans to be at an all day crop but you have NO idea what you want to work on. You are looking at your house and thinking " AGH How am I going to get everything done AND get all of my crap together in time for Saturday??" Relax you will...Monday is the day that you will spend getting the housework and grocery shopping done first. Yes you read that right and I know you so did not want to read that let alone hear that part but if you REALLY want to be prepared for Saturday's crop then you have got to do this okay????? So trust me on this, Monday do ALL of your housework, that means laundry, bathroom, vac, whatever, grocery shopping, etc.

Then it's Tuesday your house is smelling like violets the toilet is all sparkly...Okay enough with that. Tuesday is your photo day. That means if all of your photos are on your computer you go through and edit and then upload to where ever you send them to to have them printed or if you print at home then you do that. If you have your pics already printed and sorted at home you go through them and organize them into piles of what pics are going into layouts. Whatever pics are not going to be used for layouts you put back. Now place all of those pics into a large ziplock bag for right now you will go back to them on Wednesday. Right now you need to get working on dinner.

Okay so it's Thursday make sure you have picked up your pictures if you had to send for them to be printed. Now the pics that were in the big ziplock bag you want to put into smaller groupings. Now you are going to go through the pictures and organize them into their individual layouts. You will need 2.5 gallon ziplock bags for this part. As you get one group of pictures together for a layout take them to your solid colored card stock and pick out a few pieces of that to go with your pics. Then pic out the pattern paper you would like to use for your layout. This is also a good time to put any other embellies that you think you might want to use on this layout like flowers, buttons, fibers, chipboard, etc. Once you have all of that figured out you want to place everything you just picked out along with the pictures into the 2.5 gallon ziplock bag. Now you have just made you very own page layout kit!!! You are going to continue to do this with the rest of your pictures. This may sound tedious to you right now but trust me when I tell you come Saturday at the crop you are going to be soooo glad you did this. When everyone else around you is digging to look for this or look for that there you will be banging out page after page because you made your page kits ahead of time!!!
Okay so Friday is the big packing day!!!! That's all you have left to do. I usually take an empty basket or two with me for rub on packs and packs of chipboard that I might want to add to my layouts and for my adhesives

Until next time my scrapping friends :)
